St. Francis Animal Sanctuary
The sanctuary is located in Erie County, Ohio. We have 30 acres of quiet and peaceful natural beauty. The work we do here is for the love of the animals. That is why we take the sickest of the sick and the oldest of the old and give them a home for the time they have left on this earth. The animals we take in are the ones no one else would have because of age or illness.

Portage County Dog Pound
ALL of the dogs at this shelter have only days to live and need to be saved DESPERATELY!!! The Portage County Dog Pound is a county animal control facility that picks up stray dogs and holds them for three days to allow an owner to claim before releasing them for adoption. The staff is forced to humanely euthanize any animals that aren't/can't be adopted/rescued two times per week due to the overwhelming number of dogs and the limited amount of space at the shelter. This is why all the dogs on the website are marked URGENT. The dogs marked VERY URGENT will be euthanized sooner. Adopt a pound dog...they'll be grateful for life!Portage County Dog Pound
